Alfred Street

This North Melbourne project sits at the crossroads of Alfred St and Boundary Road, it acts as the mediator between the small scale context immediately to the east and the large scale Tapestry Project to the west; it is a gateway building, a nodal point for the precinct. The buildings overall mass is split into two distinct forms: podium and tower. The podium responds to the low-density (human scale) context whilst the tower responds to the urban context (city scale); although distinct, the two masses are held together by a palette of materials drawn from the industrial history/heritage of the area.
