High Street Armadale
The proposed development seeks to ensure the building fabric is retained to conserve the primary building volume and intactness of the heritage streetscape. Demolition will be limited to the building concealed behind the main roof form. The principal chimneys and building elements such as doors, windows and veranda structure will also be retained. The Proposed development is defined by a sculptural curved form which sits juxtaposed to heritage fabric on High St. Upper levels are setback between 3.5 + 10m allowing appreciation of the single storey scale of the original fabric in front. The later addition of an infill brick wall between the two heritage structures is to be demolished to create a discrete entrance accentuating the two heritage buildings as individual forms.
